Why Skills
With over one-third of India’s population being youth, this demographic represents a significant portion of the country’s labor force. India has the potential to fully capitalize on its demographic dividend if its youth are equipped with the right skills and are employable.
For the underprivileged youth, it is vital that their energy and potential are properly directed through skill development programs. By doing so, we not only enhance their employability but also contribute to economic growth and nation-building. Proper skilling ensures that young individuals become active participants in shaping a prosperous and self-reliant nation.
What We Do
SMB Foundation’s Livelihood Program bridges the gap between unemployed and underemployed youth from disadvantaged communities and sectors with high growth potential. By focusing on skill development and training, we empower young individuals who are underutilized in the job market due to a lack of qualifications and experience.
Through targeted upskilling, we help these youth gain the necessary competencies to become active contributors to the country’s economic growth. Our program aligns with the Skill India Mission and complements government initiatives, while also supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 (Quality Education) and 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
By equipping youth with the skills they need, we enable them to unlock their potential and become valuable participants in India’s progress.
