Why Education Matters
Education is the foundation for addressing critical issues like healthcare, poverty, population control, unemployment, and human rights. By providing education to children in need, we pave the way for a more equitable and prosperous society. Education not only secures a child’s future but also nurtures responsible national and global citizens.
The Right to Education (RTE) Act, enacted in 2010, ensures free and compulsory education for children aged 6 to 14. However, even after more than a decade, many children still face barriers to consistent learning. Socio-economic challenges and inadequate school infrastructure continue to hinder educational progress for countless children.
By investing in education, we empower communities, break the cycle of poverty, and create a generation that can drive meaningful change. Education is not just a tool – it is the most powerful catalyst for shaping a better tomorrow.
What We Do
At SMB Foundation, our flagship Education for All program is dedicated to empowering underprivileged children by providing access to quality education, nutrition, and overall well-being. Our initiatives are aligned with the National Education Policy (2020) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) – ensuring inclusive and equitable education for all.
We focus on supporting children between the ages of 3 to 18 who live in challenging circumstances, including:
- Children from economically disadvantaged families
- Differently-abled children
- Children affected by natural disasters
- Abandoned and street children
- Children in tribal regions, remote villages, and hard-to-reach areas
Through education, we aim to break the cycle of poverty, nurture potential, and build a stronger, more equitable future for every child.
